TK Health Becomes Medical Services Administrator for Potter County Detention Center

A map of Texas

TK Health is now the medical services administrator for the Potter County Detention Center. The partnership began at the beginning of the new year.

TK Health is an Oklahoma-based corrections healthcare company that serves jails throughout the region. TK Health partners with about 150 jails in a dozen states to provide medical care.

CEO Flint Junod said TK Health officials are happy to add the Potter County Sheriff’s Office to the company’s roster of professional partners. TK Health will provide Potter County with administrative medical services, including a medical providers clinic, psychiatry and mental health, and dentistry.

“Working with Sheriff Brian Thomas and his team is a great way to start the new year,” Junod said. “We’re happy to provide quality care to patients at the Potter County Detention Center.”

The Potter County Detention Center is in Amarillo, Texas. The 125,000-square-foot center consists of 576 beds, a 27-bed infirmary, and two “violent cells,” according to the website. The center, which was built in 1995, houses inmates awaiting trial, those sentenced to county corrections, and those waiting for transfer to state and federal institutions. The Potter County Sheriff’s Office oversees the detention center.
