TK Health Becomes Medical Provider in Jefferson County

TK Health is now the medical services provider for the Jefferson County Jail. The partnership began this month. 

TK Health is an Oklahoma-based corrections healthcare company that serves jails throughout the region. TK Health partners with about 140 jails to provide medical care. 

CEO Flint Junod said TK Health officials are pleased to work with Jefferson County and Sheriff Jeff Bullard, Sr. to provide needed correctional healthcare services.

“We’re excited to work with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and to further expand our services into Illinois,” Junod said. “We look forward to an ongoing partnership to provide quality medical services for the people in their care.” 

The Jefferson County Jail is located in Mount Vernon, Illinois. The jail has been located in Mount Vernon since 1820, when a log jail was built there a year after the town became the county seat.

Today, the jail has the capacity for about 200 inmates. It holds people who are awaiting trial, convicted offenders, and federal prisoners.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the management of and security in the jail.
